The Power Of The Paddle

Djibouti, a tiny country on the Horn of Africa at the entrance to the Gulf of Aden, has become a refuge for people fleeing from neighbouring war zones. It’s here that former soldier and extreme adventurer Jordan Wylie visited various refugee camps and orphanages and saw first-hand the grim lives of many of the children, deprived of so many of the basic things which most children in the U.K. simply take for granted.

Determined to raise funds and awareness to build a new school for some of these children, Jordan embarked on a series of extraordinary adventures, becoming the first person to row solo and unsupported across the pirate invested Bab-El-Mandeb Straits between Yemen and the Horn of Africa; running a series of extreme marathons in ice-cold climates around the world and by Stand Up Paddleboarding for longer and further than anyone ever had before at sea, in an attempt to circumnavigate mainland Great Britain, where he faced angry fisherman, busy shipping lanes, military firing ranges, crazy teenagers on jet-skis, psychotic jelly-fish and, finally, Covid-19.

This is the inspirational true story of the lengths one man took to fulfil a dream and keep his promise of making a positive contribution to the lives of the people, especially children, in the war-torn countries he’d come to know so well through his travels.

“A highly accomplished adventurer who continues to inspire young people around the world to never give up and follow their dreams”

Nimsdai Purja MBE, Elite Soldier, Mountaineer & World Record Holder

“It was a real privilege to work alongside Jordan and see first-hand his commitment to helping inspire the next generation of children”

Alex Gregory MBE, Double Olympic Champion & Ocean Rower

Running For My Life

This is the extraordinary true story of how a former British soldier turned extreme adventurer set out to run through the world’s most dangerous countries. In 2018, Jordan Wylie trained and ran in Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan to raise awareness of the plight of children suffering in war zones as well as the funds to help provide education.

“An inspiring read of courage, determination and passion to help others. Jordan takes us on an incredible journey to places most people will never see, while also facing his own mental health struggles head on.”

Dame Kelly Holmes MBE, Olympic Double Gold Medalist

“The inspiring story of a man on the edge who faced up to and conquered his demons in order to help himself and others build a better life. One step at a time.”

Kay Burley, Sky News Presenter

Citadel

In this international bestseller titled Citadel, Jordan Wylie writes the first ever account of those dangerous years from someone ‘at the front’. A young soldier from the backstreets of Blackpool who had served in Iraq and had lost friends and colleagues, he was determined to make the most of his life, but unsure of the way forward. To his surprise, he found his answers in the perilous waters of ‘Pirate Alley’ in far away lands.

“The scourge of piracy continues around the globe and this is an action packed account from a man who has been at the sharp end many times”

Admiral James Stavridis, US Navy – NATO Supreme Allied Commander (2009-2013)

“Jordan Wylie takes us on a journey to places most of us will never see, and thankfully so. A riveting tale of swashbuckling, war and banditry on the high seas in the modern era.”

Around The World

Hello, my name’s Evie Grace Wylie. Together with my Daddy (Jordan Wylie), we have created this colouring and workbook to help you learn more about the incredible world we live in.

Jordan Wylie:

We have put together this colouring workbook to help you learn about the 196 recognised countries of the world. It contains the flag of each nation for you to colour in, along with an interesting fact about each country with space for you to research, learn and complete the missing information relating to each country, such as capital city, currency, climate and much more. You may even be able to find someone famous from each country or other interesting information. Perhaps your family can help you too.

Flags have been used all over the world for thousands of years to identify people, places, cultures and beliefs. This book is a fun way to learn about each country and see where it is located on the world map, whilst learning more about each nation as you fill in the blanks and do your research.

“This is an excellent resource for children learning about the wider world and also a great fun activity for teachers and parents to learn from too”

Nina Johnson – Head Teacher, Zouch Primary School

“I have 3 children and this book was a godsend in 2020 through the global pandemic, it played a key part in our daily home schooling and I also learnt lots too”

Megan Shelton – Parent & Children’s Charity Volunteer
